WATER BAPTISM
The Bible teaches that if you have accepted Christ into your life, the next step is to be water baptized (Matthew 28:18-20). Water baptism is a public declaration to your community, friends, and family of your commitment to living a renewed life through Jesus. Listen to teaching on water baptism here:
Hey, Parents!
If your child has made the decision to follow Jesus, it is time to take the next step by being water baptized. Below you will find a guide with questions that will help make the decision if your child is ready. If you feel your child is ready, we’ve provided a devotional for you and your child to walk through the steps of what it means to be water baptized. Register your child for our Creekwood Baptism Weekend!
COMMON QUESTIONS ON BAPTISM
As you are immersed in water, you bury your old sinful nature. When you come out of the water, you experience the new life and resurrection in Jesus.
(Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:4)
Once you have committed yourself to Jesus Christ and acknowledge Him as Lord by turning away from sin and trusting Him, you are ready for water baptism.
(Acts 2:41; 8:12-13)
To follow the example set by Christ. (Mark 1:9) Because Christ commanded it. (Matthew 28:18-20) It demonstrates that you really are a believer. (1 John 2:3)
The word “baptize” means to “dip under water.” Because Jesus was baptized that way. (Matthew 3:16) Every biblical baptism was by immersion. (Acts 8:38-39)
Your baptism should have signified you becoming a follower of Jesus, beginning a changed life, and uniting with a new family. If your baptism did not reflect this change of life for you, you should be baptized again.
At Creekwood, we wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them. When a child makes a decision to follow Christ, we will gladly baptize them.
Absolutely! Having friends and family to celebrate with you at your baptism is a great way to show them that you are serious in your commitment to Christ. Entrance is free for the Water Baptism service which begins at 8:30am. If they want to stay at the park “All Day”, they will need to have an “All Day” ticket.
