OUR VALUES

We Keep Jesus At The Center

We will keep the main thing the main thing.

We Do Life Together

Life change happens best through relationships.

We Serve Always

We’re never more like Christ than when we’re serving the needs of others… We are contributors, not consumers.

We Are Generous

We believe it is more blessed to give than to receive.

We Saved a Seat For You

If people matter to God, they better matter to us.

OUR PASTOR

Stephen Nutt, Senior Pastor

Pastor Stephen was raised in South America by wonderful parents who have been missionaries to Bolivia for over 53 years. After 16 years in youth ministry, Stephen felt called to plant a church in Mansfield, Texas. Along with two other families, the Levens and the Hendersons, Stephen and Thelisa founded Creekwood Church in 2004. Since its launch, we have seen God fulfill His promises as Creekwood has grown and expanded its reach in the Mansfield community. Our vision remains the same: to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Our heart for God and people has cultivated an authentic and compassionate church family at Creekwood.

LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

The head of Creekwood Church is Jesus Christ. As a whole, our goal is to reflect His priorities in all we do. Creekwood is governed by three primary groups:

We are led by Pastors.

Creekwood’s Pastoral staff is led by our Senior Pastor. This team oversees the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church.  Our pastors provide spiritual leadership for the church through prayer, teaching, and preaching.

We are guided by Elders

The Elders are pastors at Creekwood who provide the overall vision, spiritual direction, and strategic leadership for the ministries of the church.  They also serve as the voting members of the church.

We are strengthened by Overseers.

Creekwood’s Overseers are three Lead Pastors of respected churches in Texas who provide spiritual protection to the church. They provide counsel to our Elders regarding major financial commitments and they they serve in accountability matters relating to our pastoral staff.

What We Believe

God, the Creator, and Ruler of the universe, eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three, known as the Trinity, are co-equal and one God.

Genesis 1:1 | Genesis 1:26-27 | Genesis 3:22 | Psalm 90:2 | Matthew 28:19 | 2 Corinthians 13:14 | 1 Peter 1:2

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is equal with the Father. Jesus became fully man, lived a sinless human life, and then offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. After three days, He rose from the dead demonstrating His power over sin and death, then ascended to Heaven. He will one day return to reign as King of kings and Lord over all lords.

Isaiah 9:6 | Matthew 1:22-23 | John 1:1-5 | John 1:14 | John 1:10-30 | Acts 1:9-11 | Romans 1:3-4 | 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 | Hebrews 4:14-15 | 1 Timothy 6:14-15 | Titus 2:13 | Peter 1:2

The Holy Spirit, equal with the Father and the Son of God, is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides every Christ follower with power for living, understanding spiritual truth, and guidance for living according to the Word of God. Scripture challenges all Christ followers to seek God wholeheartedly and daily live surrendered to His authority. The Holy Spirit also gives spiritual gifts for the purpose of glorifying God and encouraging others. Christ followers are to supremely regard the fruit of the Spirit as they reflect the character and nature of God, in all things.

Matthew 7:22-23 | John 16:7-13 | John 14:16-17 | Acts 1:4 | Acts 1:5 | Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 2:12 | 1 Corinthians 3:16 | 2 Corinthians 3:17 | Ephesians 1:13 | Ephesians 5:18 | Galatians 5:25

The Bible, God’s Word was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Inspired by God, the Bible is truth without a mixture of error, the source of Christian beliefs, and the final authority for living.

Psalm 119:105 | Psalm 119:160 | Proverbs 30:5 | 2 | Timothy 1:13 | 2 Timothy 3:15-16 | 2 Peter 1:20-21

People, made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character, are the supreme objects of God’s creation. Through Christ, all people have tremendous potential for good, but all are marred by disobedience toward their Creator, which God calls sin.

Genesis 1:27 | Psalm 8:3-6 | Isaiah 53:6a | Isaiah 59:1-2 | Romans 3:23

Marriage, we believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is to occur exclusively within that union.

Genesis 2:24 | Matthew 19:4-5 | Ephesians 5:31

Salvation, God’s offered redemption for sin, is provided through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. All who, by faith, turn from self-rule to Jesus Christ are forgiven by God and freed from the penalty of sin. No sin is beyond God’s ability or willingness to forgive. Salvation, given by grace, is not attained through self-improvement or good works. Any person who believes that Jesus rose from the dead and confesses that Jesus is Lord of his life, is saved and made a new, spiritual creation.

John 14:6 | Romans 5:1 | Romans 6:23 | Galatians 3:26 | Ephesians 2:8-9 | Titus 3:5

Eternity, God’s will for every human is to experience a life-transforming relationship that is found only in Christ. All humanity will experience a bodily resurrection and a judgment that will determine the fate of each individual. Having rejected God, unbelievers will suffer eternal condemnation apart from Him. Those who choose to follow Christ and His ways, will enter eternal communion with God.

John 3:16 | John 14:17 | Romans 6:23 | Romans 8:17-18 | 1 Corinthians 2:7-9 | Revelation 20:15
