Welcome to Creekwood Critters! At Creekwood Critters we exist to teach kids three basic truths:
We recommend you arrive 20 minutes prior to service.
When you first arrive, please come to the Kids Registration Desk located in the foyer of the church. We will ask you to fill out a brief registration form. Your child will receive a numbered name tag which will be applied to their shirts and diaper bags. You will receive a tag with matching numbers. You must have these security tags in order to pick up your children. This is to ensure that no one picks them up without your permission.
Based on ages and developmental stages, your children will be assigned and escorted to their classroom. Please be sure to inform the teacher of any allergies or health concerns.
In the event that your child needs the comfort of mommy or daddy during service, the security tag number will be posted on the screen in the auditorium.
We know that leaving your new baby for the first time can be overwhelming. The volunteers in our infant classroom have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies and their training to care for all the needs of your infant. We recommend parents bring a diaper bag and a bottle. Please feel welcome to bring any comfort items your child might have such as a blanket or pacifier. You will also want to bring a change of clothes for your child just in case it is needed.
This is a fun and active stage in your children’s lives. In their age-appropriate classroom, children will spend time playing games, singing songs and hearing that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Our teaching plan begins in our toddler classroom. All activities are age appropriate with plenty of flexibility for the normal needs of toddlers and two-year-olds.
We believe that it is our responsibility to introduce preschoolers to their Heavenly Father. So before they leave Critters, we want them to know: God loves me, God made me and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Every month we focus on one of these three basic truths. Each week overflows with imagination as your child learns about the Bible through games, small crafts, and age-appropriate Bible lessons that teach the one key truth for the month.
Small Talk cards are sent home monthly to update you on what your children are learning. You are the best teacher for your children, so use the activities to talk about God all week at home.
To learn the Bible story that your children heard on Sunday and to help them learn the memory verse for the month, download the Parent Cue and Small Talk.
Each week, your child (2-5yrs) will be given a Small Talk card to take home. This will tell you what your children are learning each month, including the key truth and bottom line for the month. It will provide you with creative ideas to help them keep learning all month long. This resource will help you take advantage of teachable moments in your home and reinforce what is being taught on Sunday mornings.

Parents of infants and toddlers will also have access to Parent Time, a brief devotional-style encouragement for parents.

In order to provide the safest environment for your children while in our care, we follow a strict check-in process.
When you bring your child to Critters, they will receive a numbered name tag which will be applied to their shirts and diaper bags. You will receive a tag with matching numbers. You must have these security tags in order to pick up your children. This is to ensure that no one picks them up without your permission. In the event that your child needs the comfort of mommy or daddy during service, the security tag number will be posted on the screen in the auditorium.
For safety and stability reasons, we ask that parents check in their children at the door, instead of going into the classrooms.
All our volunteers go through a screening process and criminal background check.
For the protection of all our children, please do not bring your children to class if they exhibit any of the following:
Teachers are responsible to oversee and delegate the overall needs of the children within a classroom. They are responsible for communicating the lessons and activities each week as well as greeting the children and parents as they arrive.
Assistants are there to aid teachers in the lesson, interacting with children, and greeting parents.
This team greets new families as they enter Critters and guides them through the process of checking into classrooms.
This team prepares the supplies for the lesson and activities for each class, a month in advance.
We would love to talk with you about joining our team. Contact Creekwood’s volunteer ministry for more information.
